Ms. Tammy Sherrard

Ms. Sherrard has taught elementary students for over 30 years and is excited to begin a new adventure as a 3rd grade teacher at Cypress Elementary. In addition to her teaching credential, she earned a Masters’ Degree from Loyola Marymount University as a Reading Specialist. Ms. Sherrard is passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. She enjoys creating a classroom where curiosity, collaboration, and kindness are valued and recognized every day. 

The IB philosophy has always inspired her to encourage students to become thoughtful, caring, and lifelong learners. She loves creating engaging lessons that help children make meaningful connections to the world around them. She is looking forward in supporting younger learners as they build confidence, independence, and a love of learning. 

Outside of school, Ms. Sherrard enjoys spending time with family, reading, gardening and traveling to new places. She is thrilled to be part of the IB community!

Mr. Josh Parker

My name is Josh Parker and I am teaching 3rd grade this year. I have been teaching at Cypress since 2001. I grew up in Arcadia, CA and have lived in Ventura County for the past 19 years. I graduated  from Cal Lutheran University with a degree in physical education and also received my teaching credential from CLU. I am married and have two children. Together, we enjoy traveling, sports, and anything outdoors!
